Welcome
to SovereignStars.com, the homepage for
a series of science fiction novels I am in the process of writing. At
the
present time I have completed the first novel, entitled "Harbinger,"
and while I work to find a publisher for it I am hard on work on
the sequel book, "Unto The Breach." These two novels will
introduce
the
universe I am creating, as well as the characters that populate it
and
the
struggles that make it spin. Should they prove successful in their aim
of attracting an audience who desires more tales spun from that future
world, I have another novel that is struggling in my brain to get out,
with even more tales percolating in the back of my mind, waiting for
the chance
to step into the spotlight.
Now, you might be asking
yourself, what is Sovereign Stars? Or, more to the point,
why should I care? Well, I suppose that depends. Do you enjoy tales of
people
struggling for survival? Do you love stories about first contact with
alien
life? Do visions of interstellar kingdoms make your eyes sparkle? Do
you hunger
for tales of adventure, intrigue, and deception, of noble intentions
and
terrible outcomes? Do you want a saga of derring-do, of pitched space
battles and
explosive planetary warfare? If you answered yes to any of those
questions,
then Sovereign Stars might just be the series of books you yearn
for.
The first
book in the Sovereign Stars saga sets the stage for everything that will
follow -- It
is the year 2459, Earth has become a tomb, and its children have spread
into
the galaxy, creating new homes and new domains, some minor, and some
encompassing thousands of light-years of space and tens of thousands of worlds.
Yet,
despite how many solar systems they chart and planets they inhabit, the
one
dream that seems to be getting further and further out of reach is that
of
finding another intelligent race to share the galaxy with. It is only
when they
least expect it, when their eyes are turned furthest inward, that the
contact
they seek will be made, and nothing will be able to prepare them for
what
follows.
The sequel novel will carry that
story forward, bringing in new characters as others leave the stage. Battles
will be fought, alliances made will be alliances broken, and by the end
of it a
conclusion will have been reached, but whether or not it is a just and
right
one may not be clear. Life, no matter how far in the future, is not an
easy
affair, and the difference between what is right and what is wrong can
be as
little as the space between two atoms, and as large as the gulf between
galaxies.Along with
this website I have created a blog at my main homepage, www.justinmacumber.com. There I talk about those things I think are
relevant to
my writing, whether it’s about my method, what sort of music I like to
write
to, or what my influences are, as well as to give status updates on
where I am
with all of my writings. If you need even more of me, I co-host a podcast that I also helped to create called The Dead Robots Society.
Come on over if you like and give it a listen, especially if you're a
fellow writer. We're a group of aspiring writers trying to help each
other, as well as every other aspiring writer who wants to join in,
reach the promised land of book publication.
And with
that, dear readers, I bid you adieu. Thank you for
visiting, and please make sure to visit my main homepage for any major announcements that I might have to
make, as well as to see what thoughts have gone through my head at any time of the day or night.
And,
please, remember…

incredible is waiting to be known.”
